Its over. 2020 is gone for good. All we can do is walk away from it and hopefully say we learned from it. You might of lost someone or gained a closer someone in your time in quarentine or wanted to strangle someone in the same breath. However knowing that Covid still exists lets talk about 2021.
Let’s keep this simple 2020 was a crappy year for most but not exactly everyone. Our family experienced good and bad. Our family business made it out successfully. We couldn’t of made it without our faith and the Government aid. We are grateful for the lessons and assistance given in 2020.
One thing I’ve learned in 2020 about myself is that I am not disciplined. Not just health or fitness, no I just can’t stay on track with a lot of things. Here’s a short list of things I quit and what I’d like to improve upon.
- Diets/Meal Plans, they work and I’ve done well with some but once they are over I gain my weight back. I want to be more mindful of my intake of unhealthy food choices.
- Gym memberships, they are very useful and I like working out, I just can’t get my work/life schedule to allow time to go. I need to make time for it, even if it’s once or twice a week.
- Books, I read more books than I have ever read in my life in 2020. BUT a new shiny object appeared called Minecraft. It’s fun and creative. I’ve also found it to be a good decompressing outlet after a long day, but also a time suck as well. My time with books has lessened. I am keeping a book on my nightstand as a reminder to read before bed.
- Music, I wanted to improve my guitar skills in 2020. I started watching YouTube videos and actually practicing my craft. I got distracted with re-watching all nine seasons of The Office on Netflix before they took it off. I will monitor how much TV time I’m partaking in. DANG IT Cobra Kai is back on!!!
- Spiritual discipline, I took a lot of time to grow my relationship with God and my personal prayer time in 2020. I was doing really well for awhile and again got off track with distractions and the holidays. My plan is to continue reading my Bible, Praying consistently and listening to spiritual leaders on podcasts.
This draft has taken me awhile to finish as I look back at what I wrote in the beginning I see my struggle is an every day battle and I have to choose to fight against my own self and self sabotage.
Inprocess is my blog name and YouTube channel name. Inprocess was based out of the pursuit of my personal goals to get healthy and get better at life. The slogan I made up is Push Hard, Push Through and Push Beyond. One step at a time, one small goal made and then to the next. So whatever goal or new hobby you’d like to do remember the slogan. Use it to motivate yourself. I know it’s helped me and I need to use it more in my goals for 2021.
Thank you for all your follows and likes in 2020! Let’s keep it up in 2021!
